The project itself includes research, collection, conservation and presentation of photographs and photographic materials by Macedonian authors who lived and worked during the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
Today, MCP holds extensive archive of over 20000 original glass plate negatives, over 2000 photographs and other photographic material with historic value.

The archive also holds the works of the founders of the Macedonian photography:

Janaki Manaki (1878-1954),
Milton Manaki (1882-1964),
Zafir Oshavkov (1905-1996),
Miroslav Beljan (1903-1998),

Pane Napeski (1902-1979),
Milan Zhezhoski (?-?),
